Amanda Hammill is a Research Coordinator with the Program in Policy Decision-making (since 2001). She has been lead staff on an array of projects addressing such issues as the factors that influence the uptake of research in policy-making environments (with John Lavis); the supply, distribution and working context of healthcare professionals (with John Lavis, Greg Stoddart and Ivy Bourgealt); and the ‘evaluation gap’ between evidence and values, and between evaluation and prescription in health technology assessment research (with Mita Giacomini). Amanda is a graduate of McMaster University with a BA in Sociology, a Bachelor of Social Work, and an MA in Social Welfare Policy. Amanda is currently on leave from the PhD program in Health Research Methodology where she received a first year CHEPA Doctoral Fellowship. Her research has been focused on knowledge translation in the area of health human resources.
